For the second year running we supported the Barcadia Media team for the 10th anniversary of the Financial Reporter Awards at MOSI in Manchester. This year the theme was set as ‘house party’ and the challenge was on to create 5 immersive themed areas within the usual budget for just one!
The experience started with a 4m bespoke chesterfield sofa set against a 12m custom branded backdrop for area sponsor the United Trust Bank. This was a great area for guests to pose for photos during the champagne reception without giving too much away.
When it was time, the band started playing and marched everyone in to the venue. Through the ‘hallway’ and in to the main party space. Here we had a kitchen area with a custom built centre island bar, Belfast sinks chilling the beer and even a custom SMEG fridge in the Pantone of the area sponsor Precise Mortgages.
Moving on we had the kids bedroom with some beer pong fun, our rock ‘n’ roll FatBoy rocking chairs perfect for a game of FIFA, double bed (because everyone loves a selfie on a bed) and our Astral Fighter gaming machine featuring all the most popular titles from the 90’s.
Carrying on though the luxurious living room with chesterfield sofas and ornate rugs, guests made there way to the bathroom with also doubled up as the photo booth or “bath tub booth” immersive experience. Guests posed in the bath tub filled with balls with a tiled backdrop and a giant rubber duck!
Finally there was our ‘gin garden’ consisting of a custom garden bar, oversized picket fencing and AstroTurf, serving a range of fabulous local gins from the Lakeland Gin Company.
The event was a huge success and we’re looking forward to seeing what the 2020 theme has to offer. We’ll be working with the Barcadia team again before that though for the annual Financial Reporter Women’s Recognition Awards at Alley Pally in later September. You can read more about this event over on our industry blog.
We love theming, the more out there the better! So if you’ve got an event coming up, large or small please do get in touch to arrange an initial meeting to discuss your ideas and concept.
