Over the first six months of 2018 we’ve been working with two big brands, bringing our customisation skills specialist arcade machine hire together to create head turning activations and guest stopping exhibition attractions.

At the beginning of January the team from JD approached us with a challenge to produce a custom boxing machine for JD’s Road to Undisputed Tour. This machine was to tour around the JD stores with Anthony Joshua’s winning belts. The challenge was set to build a boxing machine similar to the visual supplied by JD and incorporating a full HD screen, GoPro Camera mounts to capture the action and a media hub to store and distribute the content.

Ahead of Anthony Joshua’s unification bout against WBO heavyweight champion Joshua Parker on the 31st March at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, JD welcomed fans to come along to AJ’s ‘Belt Tour’. JD and AJ collaborated to give fans a unique opportunity to have their picture taken with Joshua’s IBF, WBA (super), and IBO belts at store nationwide, along with an exclusive chance to win tickets to the highly anticipated fight.

As always we stepped up to the challenge and completed the project in record time. We then sent the machine out with our team of time served technicians and solved the many logistical and mechanical issues that often occur when a machine of this size are transported from venue to venue rather than being in one set location.

Starting in Sheffield the ‘Belt Tour’ made several stops before reaching its final destination in Cardiff, where AJ added Parker’s WBO belt to his collection. AJ is now just one belt away from becoming the coveted undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

Following on from the success of the JD boxer we went on to support Bulk Powders at the Body Power Expo in Birmingham with another fully custom wrapped boxing machine that proved to be a huge success with both the Bulk Powders team and guests alike.

“Just wanted to drop a note to say thank you and how happy we were with the boxing machine. Everything went smoothly – didn’t have any issues.” Rebecca | Bulk Powders

Why should you hire a boxing machine for your event?
Often also referred to as punch ball, punch bag or punching machines, the boxing machine is a great add on to your event, activation or exhibition stand. Over the past 12-months alone we’ve hired these machines to JD, Bulk Powders, Unilever, Lynx and Aalco Metals to name just a few of our leading name clients. These boxing machines are set to free play and are an instant attraction to your activation or exhibition. From hiring a boxing machine for one night to a longer event or exhibition we can help!

What should I look for when hiring a boxing machine?

1) Boxing machines come in all shapes and sizes so make sure the company you’re hiring off sends you an image of the exact machine they are planning to supply.

2) Does the company offer spares or the option for a back-up machine at a reduced rate? Due to the nature of these machine being constantly punched you can find that they get a variety of technical issues such as the arm getting stuck, the ball popping or even snapping off in some instances. For this reason it’s important to go with a company that can provide a level of support for your event or you may end up with a machine turned off and unable to be used.

3) If drink is involved it’s always wise to have an operator with the machine to limit the risk to you and your guests. After a few drinks you can often get guests trying to head butt or drop kick the ball which never ends well.

What’s the main thing to consider when hiring a boxing machine?
Will it physically fit?! Unless you have a ground floor location or an extremely large goods lift the chances are a 7ft boxing machine (which doesn’t bend) isn’t going to fit. We’ve had all sorts of challenges when it comes to access so its important to check all your dimensions before you book.
